Candidates can submit their applications without a late fee until September 28, 2025, while the deadline with a late fee is October 9, 2025. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in two sessions.
About NIT Jalandhar
Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology was established in the year 1987 as Regional Engineering College and was given the status of National Institute of Technology (Deemed University) by the Government of India on October 17, 2002, under the aegis of Ministry of Education, New Delhi. The Ministry of Education, Government of India declared the Institute as “Institute of National Importance” under the Parliament Act 2007. A large number of reputed Industrial companies in the country visit the Institution and select the final year students as Engineers/ Management Trainees.

NIT Jalandhar Courses and Admission 2025
NIT Jalandhar is offering courses like Under Graduation, Post Graduation, MBA, Ph.D., M.Sc., and many more. The fee for each course is different from one another. In the discipline of Humanities and Management, NIT Jalandhar courses offers a two-year full-time MBA degree. Admission to NIT Jalandhar's MBA program is determined by CATMAT/GMAT/CMAT scores, followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview. If seats remain unfilled, the institute holds its own entrance exam, which is followed by a GD and PI round. A one-year PG Diploma in Management is offered at NIT Jalandhar. The institute also provides a Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering.
NIT Jalandhar admission in BTech courses is based on the JEE Main score, followed by JoSAA Counseling. The JoSAA counselling for 2025 has already started with the first round of allocation being already done. The GATE score is accepted for admission to NIT Jalandhar's MTech program, which is followed by CCMT Counseling. GATE exam registration for 2026 is all set to begin in August,2025. The IIT JAM score is used to determine NIT Jalandhar MSc admissions in 2026, followed by CCMN Counseling. It is a full-time two-year curriculum that comprises core courses, electives, and project work. The GATE/UGC NET score is used to determine NIT Jalandhar Ph.D. admissions, followed by a "presentation and interaction" process.
Candidates having a BTech/BS/BE degree from a centrally supported technical institute with a minimum of 75 percent aggregate or a CGPA of 8.0 or better on a 10-point scale and a valid GATE score are also eligible for direct admission to the Ph.D. program. As it is a government university, NIT Jalandhar's fees are lower than those at other universities, allowing students from low-income families to attend. Three companies extended internship offers to students during the summer internship placement drive at the NIT Jalandhar campus. Internships were offered to more than 29 students. The highest monthly stipend was INR 80,000. Microsoft made it available. The lowest monthly stipend was INR 40,000. Recruiting firms such as Microsoft, American Express, Oracle, Sabre Corporation, and others took part in the 2024 placement drive.
